4. Platform and Wedding Organizer Roles

4.1 Platform Operator: Ellie.wedding is a software service operated by Tischhauser Solutions. We provide the technical platform that allows wedding organizers to create wedding pages, manage RSVPs, and optionally collect voluntary wedding-related contributions from guests.

4.2 Wedding Organizer as Payment Recipient: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Tischhauser Solutions is not the seller, recipient, or beneficiary of voluntary guest contributions. Payments made by guests are intended for the relevant wedding organizer or wedding couple through that organizer's Stripe connected account.

4.3 No Custody of Guest Funds: Tischhauser Solutions does not hold guest contribution funds. Payment processing, settlement, payouts, disputes, and refunds are handled through Stripe and the wedding organizer's Stripe connected account, subject to Stripe's terms and requirements.

4.4 Organizer Responsibility: Wedding organizers are responsible for the purpose, amount, description, currency, refund policy, tax treatment, legal permissibility, and handling of any guest contribution collected through their wedding page.

5. Payment and Billing

5.1 Stripe Connect: We use Stripe to facilitate payments. Wedding organizers who enable payment features may be required to complete Stripe Connect onboarding and agree to Stripe's terms of service, connected account agreement, and any payment method requirements.

5.2 Connected Account Profile and Public Wedding Page: Ellie.wedding is the platform homepage for Tischhauser Solutions. When a wedding organizer creates or updates a Stripe connected account, the organizer should use the public wedding page for that specific wedding as the payment-context website or business profile URL where available. The public wedding page should identify the wedding organizer or couple, describe the voluntary contribution purpose, and show the payment context presented to guests. Technical Stripe onboarding return and refresh URLs may remain Ellie.wedding platform URLs.

5.3 Guest Payments: Before making a payment, guests should review the payment amount, currency, payment recipient, payment purpose, and any refund terms provided by the wedding organizer. Checkout should clearly display the amount, currency, and payment recipient before the guest confirms the payment. Payments may be processed using payment methods made available by Stripe, including local payment methods where eligible.

5.4 Voluntary Wedding Contributions: Wedding organizers may configure suggested contribution amounts for their guests. Ellie.wedding is designed for optional contributions; no guest is required by Ellie.wedding to make a payment in order to submit an RSVP. Guests may decline to contribute. Payment processing fees, applicable taxes, and other charges may be calculated at the time of transaction.

5.5 Platform Fees: Currently, our platform is provided free of charge for wedding planning services. We reserve the right to introduce fees in the future with at least 30 days notice.

5.6 No Physical Goods Sold by the Platform: Ellie.wedding does not sell or ship physical goods. Payments facilitated through the platform are for voluntary wedding-related contributions configured by wedding organizers. If a wedding organizer offers anything beyond those voluntary contributions, the organizer is responsible for clearly describing it and complying with any applicable delivery, shipping, consumer protection, tax, and payment method requirements.

6. Refund and Cancellation Policy

6.1 Organizer Refund Responsibility: Refund policies for voluntary guest contributions are determined by the wedding organizer. As the organizer, you are responsible for:

All rights to the Ellie.wedding platform, including but not limited to software, design, trademarks, and documentation, are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our service, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

Wedding organizers are responsible for ensuring that they have a lawful basis to collect, upload, and process guest information through Ellie.wedding, including names, contact details, RSVP responses, dietary restrictions, and payment-related information.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ellie.wedding shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

We are not responsible for any issues arising from third-party services (including Stripe), wedding organizer refund decisions, guest disputes, technical failures, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

Upon termination, your right to access the service will cease immediately. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through a notice on our platform. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
